Extreme Makeover~Bathroom Edition =)

I am so proud of our recent home improvement that I had to create a blog post about it.  We have been living in our house for about 8 years now and have done some home improvements here and there but never anything major so I am pretty excited and proud of our bathroom renovation.  At the beginning of the year Danny and I started saving/planning to remodel the kids' bathroom.  Between his work schedule, hunting, and being out of town all the time there was just never a good time to get started but the time has finally come! We started  demo on Thanksgiving Day.  I say "we" because I have helped but my hubby deserves all the credit. He has really worked hard on this project and I am so proud and thankful for him!  I did more of the design and ideas part of it LOL!  Here are some pics of the progress so far!

Summer Fun!

So far this summer has been a BLAST! We started it off with a vacation to Arkansas to see my family for a week.  It was an eventful trip to say the least but it was very nice to see all of my family and even a nephew that I had not seen since he was born.  It was nice to come home to the clear, dry air.  The humidity there is killer!  We have went fishing A LOT this summer and the kids really enjoy it because they get to jump in the water!  We even got to go camping last weekend for one night and it was nice! We have had a very fun-filled summer and have done a lot of fun things as a family and I am so grateful for that.  It is that time of year again to start getting the kids ready to start school and the summer is coming to an end, boohoo!  Here is a peek at some of the things we have been doing!
Happy Kids!

CANNONBALL! :)
Morgan LOVES the water!
McKelle wouldn't let go of the boat! :)

Here I am

Okay so maybe I'm a little behind the times when it comes to this "BLOG" thing!  Well, here I am so here we go!  Please be patient with me while I try to get the hang of it.  It took me a little while but I  finally realized I was the probably the only person out there that wasn't blogging!  As if MySpace and Facebook aren't enough, now I'm adding this to my list of online addictions?  Go figure!

Just to bring you up-to-date on a little info about me:  I have 3 beautiful children: a son, Jayden (11), and indentical twin daughters, Morgan & McKelle (6).  I like to call the twins "our little miracles" because they were born premature and almost didn't make it.  We live in a small town in a log cabin that we purchased 7 years ago.  It is the house that my hubbie grew up in and helped his dad build from the ground up.  We are very proud to own it and admire the craftmanship it took to build.

About Jayden:  He is in 6th grade this year and is enjoying his 1st year of Middle School.  I hate to brag but here I go :), he is so smart!  I recently went to his parent/teacher conference and got nothing but postive input on his behavior and academics.  He is on an 8th grade level and I am so proud of his accomplishments.  He is a line man this year in football and loves every minute of it!  He has been saving his money to buy a motorcyle for about a year now from different odd jobs such as mowing lawns, pulling weeds, and collecting cans.  He managed to save up $500.  With help from Danny, he has been searching and searching for the best deal.  Well, a about a month ago he finally found it!  He was able to find one in his budget, and still have money left over for gas!  It is now officially named "the dirt dobber"!  I hope this will teach him the value of a dollar and how important it is to work for the things you want in life!  I have found it to be a great incentive to get him to do his chores and homework without a fight, which is really nice for me! :)

About Morgan:  She is in 1st grade this year and absolutely LOVES it.  She told me the other day that she doesn't like Wednesdays because it's early out and she wants to stay at school.  She had a hard  time the 1st couple of days because she didn't like not being in the same class as McKelle, but she has made some new friends and all is well now!  She loves her teacher and is doing very well academically.  She recently has showed interest in taking dance or gymnastics classes, so I will probably be signing her up very soon!

About McKelle:  She is in 1st grade this year and is having a great time.  She had a hard time at first adjusting to being at school all day.  The first day of school she came home and fell asleep on the floor in her bedroom.  It took her a couple of days to adjust to the long days.  She loves her teacher and is doing great academically.  She has discovered that she loves getting mani/pedis....like-mother-like-daughter! :)  She has recently told me that she wants to play football!  Um...I'm not sure about that!  Let's just try dance or gymnastics with Morgan for now! :)

As for me, I recently started school to become a Nail Tech!  It is a dream that I have had since I was a little girl putting on Lee-Press-Ons!  I started about a month ago and am LOVING every minute of it!  I will graduate in December and hope to eventually work from home.  I can't image a better way to spend 4 hours of my day than in a nail salon!  I am having the time of my life learning and following my dreams!  I am excited to see what the future brings and will keep you updated on my progress. :)

Well, I have OFFICIALLY posted my first blog people!  Stay tuned for future updates and remember I'm new at this so don't judge!
